Biweekly report (week 5 & 6)- School Internship Phase 1

 Day 17: 09 September 2024

As another day of Onam examination, I got exam duty on morning as well as at afternoon shift. It was a challenging yet rewarding experience that enhanced my ability to manage a classroom effectively.

Day 18: 10 September 2024

Working alongside experienced teachers during exam duty taught me valuable techniques for maintaining control and fairness in the exam hall.

Day 19: 11 September 2024

Today I got exam duty at UP section. It was a different experience from high school section. Students at UP section were more energetic and active than high school students.

Day 20: 12 September 2024

Today was the last day of Onam examination. Organising the answer sheets for valuation by the teachers and other duties performed by teachers were all new experiences for me.

Day 21: 13 September 2024

Today was the Onam celebration day for the SPC cadets in the school. Many police officers came as the chief guests and there was a music show. Onam vacation started today.


Day 22: 23 September 2024

Today was the school reopening day after onam vacation. I taught 9B students maths on topic 'special operations' and 'multiplication with a difference' of the chapter 'Multiplication Identities' as I got an extra period. I showed slides as teaching aid respectively.

Day 23: 24 September 2024

I taught 'multiplication' of irrational numbers on 2nd period. I prepared innovative model to make class insightful. I also prepared chart for the same. On 4th period, I conducted Diagnostic test on 9B (chapter- Multiplication of Identities) Diagnostic test 1

Day 24: 25 September 2024

I taught the section 'Multiplication of irrational numbers' through Inquiry training model and prepared chart as teaching aid. I also conducted remedial teaching for the diagnostic test.


Day 25: 26 September 2024

I got 2 periods on 9B today. So I taught more activity questions on section 'Multiplication" based on lesson plan 17 and 18. I showed models and slide respectively.

Day 26: 27 September 2024

Today I completed the section 'multiplication' on the chapter 'Irrational multiplication' and showed slide as teaching aid.

Reading and reflection

 Reading and reflection involve analyzing a text deeply and thinking critically about its meaning, relevance, and personal insights gained. I read the book 'Is god a mathematician ' by Mario Livio during semester 3. In this book the author explores the relationship between mathematics, human mind and the universe  I read the book ' Is maths Real' By Eugenia Cheng during semester 4. This book is  a thought provoking exploration of mathematics as a practical tool.
